remembering irina

Back in 2006, before Agy mania had reached it’s peak (and then down some..), there was Irina.

Well, there were other people too, but bear with me here.

Us bloggers swooned over her fringe and her rock n roll credentials. Then, as is inevitable said peroxide haired model stepped up and kind of stole her sunshine. Irina hasn’t been appearing in as many editorials or shows, especially as she has a musical career to be seeing to.

I grabbed a copy of Tank at the weekend, and it was Irina’s piece that got me to part with my crumpled fiver; it just reminded me of how I used to love her, and the photographs show us personal insights with shots of notes from Pete Doherty and childhood snaps.

I was always a Libertines fan, so have known about Pete aside from Kate, but this article, which tells of Irina and his on-off relationship paints them in an endearing picture; they’re life long collaborators and lovers. Just forget about the heroin side and appreciate the images.

Lovely.

haha, oh dear, think maybe i need to rethink the title!

indeed, she is still alive and well as far as I know anyway.

Funnily enough, she joked about not wanted to be part of that fated "Club 27"..

Irina is still one of my favourites. To be honest i could never understand why she so rarely appeared in magazines as she has such a great look, pretty yet still interesting. I think whats really nice about her is that she seems to be real person, agy is just tooo much!

Great photos. (Sighs) why do they always have to get involved with that stuff? She is beautiful though. You have to admit Agy is pretty great though :)

there's something magical about the last photo with Pete's notes and the snaps from her childhood..I don't know what it is, but I could just stare at it for ages.

great post, it's good that we're "reminded" that Irina is still an incredible model.

sigh, irina was one of my very first favourite models, I definitely needed a reminder ;)

I think the fabness of Irina comes from the fact that on some level, she doesn't need to be a model to be cool (which also partly accounts for the fact that she's not seen around so much any more- she's got other things to do), but she's still such a fab model! I miss seeing pictures of her..
