dust and flamingos

i think i've mentioned already that the builders are in.
this is both good and bad.

on the positive side, it means that our cupboards are abundant with all kinds of biscuit. a downside is that everything is covered in a layer of concrete dust.

but.. it means that i have found myself the new perfect place to take outfit photos. whereas before this turned into a massive palaver; pushing my sofabed across the room, balancing mirrors and lampshades hap-hazardly, now I can stand on our new steps, perfectly positioned under the new sky lights and above the hallway mirror.

the lengths a blogger will go to to capture an outfit..(!)

the last two weeks have been filled with lovely surprises through the mail as I have discovered the joys of internet shopping. my most recent purchase was a pair of shorts from kirsty lee's store after she alerted me of their similiarity to this pair.

they're pale denim and you know what this means?
double denim time!

also a couple of new purchases from the weekend (even though I'm skint..)
a vintage bustier/waistcoat (depending on my mood) and and incredible cute flamingo pendant.

The flamingo brooch is divine! and I love the shape of those shorts, high waisted and a little loose, looks perfect just worn simply with the white t.

ooo i love flamingos, amazing! and your top outfit is amazing, simply chic, understated, wonderful! oh man, I hate when builders are in, when our kitchen got remodeled a year ago, I used to leave for school 20mn early because I hated eating breakfast with them watching haha

The little photo spot looks so cute, as does that pendant. I think anything with flamingos is just inherently lovely - they're so adorable!

I like your quirky little Chloe Sevingey esque outfits. Haha I know how you feel about the builders. When we redid our kitchen the whole house was a disaster and we didnt eat anything but microwave meals and whole foods panninis for seven months.

The pale denim shorts are really lovely. And i know what you mean about builders and biscuits - when i was 7 we had our loft converted and the builders introduced us to all sorts of new varieties - my favourites were 'Gold' bars (but you probably didn't need to know that).

Ah I spot the famous Topshop sandals. It's nice to know they are still hanging in there!

I think double denim actually is working this summer. Why I have no clue!

I really like those shorts. It is so hard to find high waisted ones that aren't mini or super tight or mom jeans, yet you managed!

you know those high waisted denim shorts i was telling you about that i got from that dodge little thrift shop? well they look just like yours. exactly.

& even more coincidentally i wore the shorts just the other day with a long AA cardigan & baggy white tee tucked in. ala your second outfit.

crazy how our lovely heads work, no?

i think you can pull off double denim better than anyone, deer. you look fab + i love the new bustier/waistcoat.
